K-2 Mountains

Overview:

The K2 and Gondogoro La Trek is one of the most famous and challenging treks in the world. It takes you through some of the most stunning and remote landscapes in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan.

The trek offers breathtaking views of some of the world’s highest peaks, including K2, the second-highest mountain in the world.

Trip Duration:

The duration of the K2 and Gondogoro La Trek is typically around 18 to 21 days, depending on the itinerary and the starting point of the trek.

Itinerary:

Day 1–2: Islamabad/Skardu to Askole (3000m):

• Fly from Islamabad to Skardu (weather permitting) or drive from Islamabad to Skardu (22 hours).
• From Skardu, drive to Askole, the last village before the trek begins.

Day 3–6: Askole to Jhola (3200m) to Paiju (3450m) to Khoburtse (3930m):

• Begin trekking from Askole and trek to Jhola.
• Continue trekking to Paiju, passing through beautiful landscapes.
• Trek to Khoburtse, enjoying stunning views of Paiju Peak.

Day 7–9: Khoburtse to Urdukas (4200m) to Goro II (4500m) to Concordia (4650m):

• Trek to Urdukas, enjoying panoramic views of the Trango Towers and Uli Biaho Towers.
• Continue trekking to Goro II, passing through the Baltoro Glacier.
• Reach Concordia, the meeting point of the Baltoro and Godwin-Austen Glaciers, with breathtaking views of K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II.

Day 10–12: Concordia to K2 Base Camp (5100m) and back to Concordia:
